Who's that girl?
Written by Sally Drury in June 2008

When it comes to talking about sex, 'Dirty Angel' isn't shy. She lost her virginity at 16 and embarked on erotic adventures at 18 - discovering a new confidence in herself as she left home for the bright lights of the big city.  She didn't know anyone but she did know one thing: a fairytale romance wasn't on the horizon.

Inspired by Belle De Jour and others, she decided to blog about her experiences and tells others of her passions. Now it's one year later and I'm here to discuss about her plans for the present and dreams for the future. Time for me to catch up with the Dirty Angel herself:

Regular readers of Dirty Angel have been glued to the ups and downs of your love life. Is there anyone special in your life at the moment?
At the moment I'm “living the single life”. Richard who I'm kind of seeing is in Canada until August and we agreed to be “non-exclusive” until he returns.

What do you look for in a man?
I love a guy with confidence, but certainly not one who is egotistical or arrogant – that's a major turn off! I like men with intelligence, good business sense. Most of all, I fall for the passion.

I met up with an old colleague recently and I was completely taken aback in how they were with me, I think I was expecting it to be one of those rough passion fuelled moments but he moved so teasingly slow, my entire body as covered in goose bumps, it was amazing. Like most women, I want someone who is going to surprise me and sweep me off my feet.

Why did you decide to write a sex blog?
I've always enjoyed reading the experiences of other people when it comes to sex, and the same goes for watching porn. The writing started when my then-boyfriend was away for the weekend and I'd watched far too much filth that I decided to write my own. This then led to writing up my own sexual experiences and my sexual fantasies. Last year I started the ‘Dirty Angel' blog, and now the adventures continue.

Is there anything sexually you haven't done which you'd like to?
Gosh, lots! In fact, I think in some respects I am still quite innocent and I have lots to learn about myself and about what makes him tick too. I know you might be thinking, “like what?” but really I have!

Do you think people's attitudes have changed when it comes to sex, and discussing it?
I think more now than ever it is socially acceptable to discuss sex amongst friends. Perhaps it's just my mind but somehow a night out with the girls, it's always me who brings up sexual liaisons but they all join in.

I recently bought ‘My Secret Garden' by Nancy Friday. It is a compilation of interviews with women discussing their sexuality and their fantasies. It was written in 1973 so at the time probably caused quite a controversy. Nowadays, these kinds of books are all over the shelves. They have always been there, but no one is shy to purchase them anymore.

With your one-year anniversary coming up, what do you see for the ‘Dirty Angel' future? Do you plan to publish?

A move to London is something I'm currently looking in to. I want a breath of fresh air, although that's probably not the most appropriate word. I want a change and London would open me up to a whole world of new opportunities.

With regards to publishing, I'm a big believer in fate. I've never pushed myself down these avenues, as I'm happy just writing for the moment. I have a career in Marketing, which I love and enjoy as I'm constantly learning but should I suddenly get a call, I'd definitely consider it.
